Christmas Day 2014 this female eagle was rescued by members of the Qualicum Beach Fire department. Thin and suffering from a bad infection in the right leg, this bird’s future was uncertain. Because it was Christmas Day, we called her ‘Noel’. Following a few courses of medication and lots of TLC, the wound healed and she regained full use of her foot. After a long stay in North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre’s large flight pen, Noel was finally freed in the same place she had been rescued almost six months earlier.

Our crowd funding campaign to raise money for a new hospital is almost over, so if you haven’t donated, please go to Mayday for M.A.R.S.
