We had an exciting day today at MARS! Two orphaned goslings were brought into MARS this morning and were both released a few hours later! The goslings were released so quickly because our top priority is making sure that our patients thrive in the wild and the orphaned goslings were taken to Fanny Bay in the hopes of finding an adoptive mother. We were in luck! The goslings became very excited at the sound of the nearby honking of an adult goose. The mother goose approached us, hearing the sound of the peeping goslings and when she was about ten feet away we released the goslings, which the mother goose accepted with open arms… more like open wings.
