MARS is looking for student wildlife rehabilitation volunteers to join our team! These positions are on a rotating basis throughout the year, and we welcome students from all over the world. Positions typically range from 4-16 weeks in length, depending on space available and the time of year. Students will be provided with basic housing and amenities and will be trained to work with many different species of both birds and mammals during their time here! During your stay at MARS, you will be taught and will be responsible for cleaning animal enclosures, feeding and medicating our wild patients, participating in wildlife rescue and releases, attending vet visits, providing enrichment for our patients and ambassadors, and more.
If you have a love for wildlife, and wish to have hands on experience with the species of Vancouver Island, volunteering at MARS is the place to be! Applicants must be aged 19 or older and have an up to date tetanus shot. Please have a look at our posting on GoodWork.ca for more information, and share it with anyone you know may be interested! Please keep in mind that these are typically on-site positions, and if you are a local wanting to volunteer with us, to please visit our website and fill out an application.
